Government Urged To Inject Funds Into Sports.

South Sudan Kickboxing chairman has called on the government and cooperate companies to start supporting the sector.

Puro Okello speaking to tksports, said for peace to reign in South Sudan, the government should turn its attention to funding the sports sector.

Mr. Okello said through sports the youth will be able to engage themselves with their counterparts from the other parts of the country.

“I want people to follow sport and i want them to love sports because sports is the only easiest venue to promote the image of this country,” said Okello

“I want to see some cooperate companies really coming forward and support sports in the country. the government should know that their message can only reach the people through sports,” added Okello.

Okello said he took this opportunity to transfer his skills to the boys and girls because he understands the importance of the sports to the country.

 “I come down here because I wanted to build the sport in the country, I should have leaved in Canada but this is my home and I know through my efforts I can be able to help the young boys and girls,” coach Okello said.

The coach said despite the challenges, he has been able to organize some events in the country that has helped improve the sport.

South Sudan Kickboxing federation is set to organize the K1 championship on 5th December at Nyakuron cultural center.

The event puts South Sudan’s Monica Kelly against a Belarusian fighter in Juba.
