Munuki gets a crucial point in first ever Title charge

FT: Munuki FC 1-1 Malakia FC

Jak James receives treatment as Munuki equalized from the resulting penalty

The Snakes fought back to hold Malakia FC to a 1-1 draw and pick a vital one point in first ever title charge for the club on Wednesday, 30th March, 2022 at Buluk Training Center.

Coach Mohammed Adam’s men got themselves 1-0 down to the Royal team, who took the lead in 17th minute as Emma completed a beautiful team play initiated by Bright Stars’ midfielder, Emmanuel Gama.

Malakia FC would have reduced the gap to only one point if they had held on to the lead and if Aluk Akech’s effort was not denied by the woodwork before half-time.

The Royal team who were missing their head Coach Bilal Felix on the touched line, will have themselves to be blamed for throwing away the lead in the second half, as their captain brought down League’s top scorer Jak James and Dusman Peter converting the resulting spot kick in the 61st minute.

Malakia had three penalty claims in the second spell of the game but all turned down by FIFA international referee Malong Riing.

This win takes Munuki four points clear at the top and close to lifting their first ever silverware in the club history.

The Snakes will be wishing that El-Merriekh frustrates joint second placed Kator FC on Thursday to ease the title race pressure on the final day as they battle Coach William’s Amarat United.
