South Sudan Football Association board have appointed Simon James Yor as the head coach of the national team U-23.
The appointment of coach Simon comes after the board held a meeting at the headquarters on Tuesday, 12th April, 2022.
The former Malakia coach has held the position since 2019 when he led the country to a third-place finish during the CECAFA U-23 competition in Ethiopia.
According to the appointments announced on Tuesday, current second division club, Simba FC head coach Simon, will be assisted by former Al Hilal Wau Coach Tarek Ahmed Muhammad.
The first assignment for the new U-23 technical team is to compete at CECAFA U-23 Championship and qualify for AFCON U-23 based on performance during regional tourney which will be hosted in Tanazia.
The Board members further appointed Charles John Guit as head coach of U-20 and will be assisted by Deng Abukalam Bak.
As for the newly appointed U-20 technical team, they must make sure the team progresses to AFCON U-20 with the qualifiers taking place in Ethiopia.
Former National senior men’ team Bilal Felix Komoyangi, has been appointed head coach of the U-17 national team, assisted by Ramadan Juma.
The current Malakia head coach was last in charge of the national men’ team in 2016 guiding the team to the group stages of AFCON qualifiers.
Bilal Felix’ first assignment will be to prepare his guards for the AFCON U-17 qualifiers to be hosted in Ethiopia.
