South Sudan National team captain Peter Maker Manyang appreciates the performance displayed by the Bright Stars in their goalless draw friendly match against Neighbors Sudan on Sunday in Morocco.

CJ Maker, as commonly known by his fans, said the lads played a nice game, “We played a great game yesterday. We deserve to win because we dominated the game in both half’s , the boys were incredible because they did put in everything and we created more than 9 chances”.

Taking some of the positivity from yesterday’s friendly ahead of the battle with Gambia in the AFCON Qualifiers, the Zesco United defender said teamwork and positive mentality is what the boys have shown.

“Teamwork and positive mentality attitude that the boys have shown yesterday and some of the improvements that can help us get positive results against Gambia”.

Though, the former Munuki FC defender believes there is still need to improve on finishing off chances, given the talent they possess upfront.

“The areas that we have to improve on is just our finishing, because luckily we have got really good strikers and i believe in them and what they are doing now, will surely pay off soon”, Maker concludes.

The Bright Stars of South Sudan will face off the Gambia in the opening group game of AFCON Qualifiers on 4th June, before squaring the international break against Mali five days later, in Kampala – Uganda.
