VICTOR: Juba Stadium to be Ready by September

South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) Secretary General Mr. Victor Lawrence predicts that “if the works at the stadium continues as planned, then it will be ready by September”.

This comes during a live show interview on tk SPORTS Drive last Sunday. A section of the stadium was brought down and being re-built.

Football fans keep on asking as to when the construction work, which started on the 5th April, 2019 will be completed.

“The construction is going on well in the stadium, we have Block A, B, D, those blocks, where the VIPS, dressing rooms and all these side is at the final touches and we are just waiting to bring the equipment to put there”.

“The construction is going on well in the 7-Mile, because it was to be started from beginning and there is also good progress on it. We are all waiting, to play in Juba”, Victor said.

“We hope, before the end of the year, we will play here and play the September games here if the work goes as planned”.

Though, Mr. Victor went on to say that, fans should not be in a rush but if works progress well and CAF approves the stadium before September, then most likely the Congo game will be played at home.

The re-construction of Juba Stadium is a five-million FIFA project under current president Mr. Gianni Infantino to help boost the country’s infrastructure.
