The Future Stars Football Academy’s youngster has been a target for the team since last year and have now signed a provisional contract for one year with an option of professional renewal based on the performances and quality.
The 17-year-old is described by the FSFA administration as a disciplined player with quality and character. He was summoned in the U17 national team last year, but the team did not participate due to MRI tests disqualification of the country.
Last year, the defensive midfielder was awarded with the Football for Friendship Diploma for ambassadorial role in sports in South Sudan. He captained the academy to victories in the JICA U17 and the Youth for Peace and Coexistence (YPC) Tournaments in 2021 and 2022 respectively. James has won several trophies for the academy, school and the community team.
The contract was reached between the Academy and Elite Falcons Football Club under the auspices of Rainbow Sports Global, which was represented by former South Sudan national team head Coach Cyprian Besong Ashu.
“Love what you do with all your heart and mind in order to become successful in this world”, James told FSFA media after signing the contract and he went further to say that people are born and gifted differently, so use your potential to achieve your dream.
“Today I will be going and I call upon my fellow brothers and sister to attend training regularly and respect the coaches”.
“I will do my best to raise the name of the Academy and South Sudan high by working extra hard”, James continued.
Emmanuel Kenyi who spoke on behalf of the Academy players expressed happiness and pleasure about this development.
“It is not the first time, but we have Martin who is currently playing in South Korea” continued Kenyi.
Kenyi urged the players to distance from doing negative acts, but rather engage in football.
The academy management thanked Rainbow Sports Global for their efforts.
