The First Edition of Pan-African InterSchool Competition to Kick-off in Juba

Draws being conducted at the SSFA headquarters on Wednesday 13th July, 2022

The draw for the Pan-African Inter-Schools Championship for Primary School pupils both boys and girls under the age of 15 to 11 was conducted this morning at SSFA Headquarters.

Games kick-off on Thursday, July 14th and shall be graced by CAF president, Dr. Patrice Motsepe who is expected in the country.

This first edition of the competition will bring together 20 Primary schools from Central Equatorial State, drawn into four groups, with the opening match for the boys seeing Buluk B School taking on Gudele East School and Gudele East School will meet with St. Teresa School in the girls competition. All matches will be played at Buluk Playground.

SSFA President, Mr. Augustino Maduot, praised the administration of the schools that showed up, saying the aim of organizing the tournament is to promote unity and harmony among young people through practice of sports.

He revealed that the initiative is from CAF in collaboration with SSFA and the National Ministry of Gernal Education.

Mr. Augustino further explained that the reason why the tournament is being held only in Juba, is because of financial constraints, stressing that the tournament in its first edition is a trial – However, SSFA is planning to extend it to other states in order to encourage large participation.
