Gudele FC opened their new season in stalemate at Munuki Playground on Sunday afternoon against Rainbow FC who were missing their head Coach James Ezekiel.

Ezekiel who is attending coaching license C course in Uganda, will be pleased with his side under assistant Coach Kenyi for the way the team performed.

Both teams had good number of attempts in the opening 45′ minutes of the game but it was Rainbow that came close to breaking the deadlock, if not to be because of Nasir Hadar’s superb performance in between the sticks for Gudele.

Though, Gudele improved in the second spell and surged forward with Captain John Abeni ‘Robinho’, Jimmy longa and isaac Fredrick causing constant problem to Rainbow Defense.

Robinho came close to giving lead to his side when he forced shot-stopper Bidal Emmanuel to parry his curling free-kick to safety.

John Salah responded immediately on the other end in the 58th minute when played through in one-on-one situation with keeper Hadar but fired it wide.

Makeshift center-half William Ofiri and co were really a bloc at the back and contained Gudele’s threat in the closing moments of the game to earn a point for Coach Ezekiel’s side.

Gudele FC last season finished 9th with 20 points meanwhile Rainbow ended two places above the latter with 21 points.
